Curriculum Materials Center

Checking out materials/ Circulation

The Curriculum Materials Center (CMC), a division of the University of Central Florida Libraries, is located in the Education Building. The CMC provides representative K-12 materials for preview, review, analysis and circulation, primarily to the students and faculty of the College of Education (COE). The CMC plays a unique and integral role in the educational process of current and future educators. All UCF students are welcome to use the CMC facilities. See Main Campus Circulation (link to Main Campus Circulation) section for information to the CMC's circulation policies. To contact the CMC please visit http://library.ucf.edu/cmc/contact.htm

Reserves

Unlike the Main Campus the CMC does not have a reserve desk. Any reserve materials will be placed in the Main Campus Library. See Main Campus Reserves section.

Reference/ Research Assistance

The CMC has both Macintosh and PC-based multimedia components for student use. Multimedia stations are available for previewing or working with CMC materials, with materials placed on reserve by faculty members, and for preparing multimedia class projects. The stations provide no word processing software. The Library online catalog in Luis, is available through PCs in the CMC. Upgraded Ethernet connectivity supports Web-based services such as WebLUIS.

Two laboratory areas in the CMC allow students to view videotapes, listen to audio tapes and CDs, to work with overhead and opaque projectors, slide projectors, record players, as well as vision- and hearing-testing equipment. Available also are an Ellison Lettermachine, tape recorders, a sheet laminator, a spiral binder, paper cutters, and other equipment to aid students in preparing class projects.
